Tuesday

I'm a senior,

...but I don't have much to prove it by. Here are a few shots of my life as it is here on East 8th Street.

Friday

It's been a while

It's been a long time since I've posted. I've been busy living, here at home on the farm all summer. And- trust me- that's a lot of busy. But it's also a lot of time for reflection, too. And, on top of that, I've got this thought hanging over me: one more year. That's right- I only have one more year of school before I'm graduated and it's time to make some Real, Big Kid Decisions.
I still don't have a good, clear plan of what I want to do, but I'm sure God will provide me with that plan. In the meantime, I'm just going to pray and think and do my best to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing with this "fire in my bones". I don't know what it will be, but this is where my heart stands right now. Here, in bowed down before the Throne of Grace, thankful for the uncountable blessings in my Everyday Life here at my parents' home.
And when I pray for direction, my bone-fire licks furiously toward orphans. I want to share my gifts, my life, with people who have nothing, with people who barely have a life, even. This is also where my heart is standing, beating, living.

Thursday

Water

Lake Ceour d'Alene
We stopped to eat ice cream by the edge of Lake Ceour d'Alene and it was a beautiful idea. And a beautiful day.
The first 4 or so minutes of this is beautiful, and so worth listening to.If I should have a Daughter...

Wednesday

God Moves in a Mysterious Way

We sang this song at Good Sam tonight and my heart was blessed.

God moves in a mysterious way

His wonders to perform;

He plants His footsteps in the sea,

And rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines

Of never-failing skill

He treasures up His bright designs,

And works His sovereign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take,

The clouds ye so much dread

Are big with mercy, and shall break

In blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,

But trust Him for His grace;

Behind a frowning providence

He hides a smiling face.

His purposes will ripen fast,

Unfolding every hour;

The bud may have a bitter taste,

But sweet will be the flower.

Blind unbelief is sure to err,

And scan his work in vain;

God is His own interpreter,

And He will make it plain.

-William Cowper

words to create a picture in your head

“God does not want ugly brown stones adorning the walls of His house. He wants lovely, pure stones, glorious stones of fire, chips of frozen rainbow. He wants a people of peace, a rainbow people, who will love the Noahic covenant and thus love His world and will not destroy it.” - James Jordan
