Wednesday

Luke's Birthday weekend

We went home for the weekend and I had fun snapping photos of the babes of the family. Enjoy.

pictorial proof the twins are taller than me

Self-described saviors. I think there were bears.

Helpful cousin

Fuzzy, but I love that laugh

immediately followed by a snarl, a scratch and a crying 4YO

Friday

Moscow Mountain

I went hiking with some people from school.  This is the view from the top of Moscow Mountain looking northward.

Tuesday

first real dinner party at our new house

Maria setting tables for our dinner.

We got 12 people around our table.  That made me happy.

Wednesday

using a fun camera

Luke and Theresa asked me to take their wedding-day photos in October.  (YIKES!) Matt and Maylene have been kind enough to lend their camera to the poor-sister-without-a-good-camera fund and I've been practicing every time they come out.  It is a Nikon D3100 and quite fun. Here are some of the shots I've turned out.

Hailey (she actually smiled for pictures, which made me happy.)

Handsome boy, that Abel

And Seth is just plain good-looking here.

Daniel.  The car on his head was a good prop and actually
turned out a smile on his adorable face.
And I did take some other pictures beside these portrait-type pictures.  Close-ups and detailed shots follow.

I love the detailed scales on this little guy.

I was trying to focus on the fly, but it ended up being focused
on the cue-stick, which looks okay anyway.

Saturday

Painting trip (in which there are no pictures of me painting)

Abel, Seth and their cousins, Maddalyn and Meredith, playing at Grandma's.

Seth and Abel with the huckleberries they picked.

Abel

The delicious huckleberry cheesecake Grandma made. It was probably the best I'd ever had.
Showing the progress. We rented a man-lift to paint the top of it. (And yes, Silas and I took it as high as it would go- super fun and a bit scary)

Abel and Seth found a tree-fort in the woods. They fought several goblin-wars while we worked.
